New Executive Board of Skål International Spain
Francisco Rivero, from Extremadura (Spain), former Skål International Madrid President, has been elected as the new Skål International Spain President in Lugo.
Francisco Rivero, the new Skål International Spain President, replaces Jorge Rodríguez, of Skål International Tenerife.
The Congress was held at the Eurostars Gran Hotel Lugo, with the participation of many skålleagues from various Clubs in Spain. On arrival, a cocktail of friendship and camaraderie was held and, the following day, the Congress was held at the same venue, concluding with the President's dinner.
On the last day, the General Assembly was held, where the new Executive Board was unanimously voted in. The event was closed in the Fortaleza restaurant, outside the city of Lugo, with the attendance of the deputy mayor Mauricio Repetto, of Uruguayan origin, who was accompanied by mayors from several towns in the province.
Francisco Rivero will be joined on the national Executive Board: Juan Vázquez, Skål International Málaga, as 1st Vice President; Pilar Simó, Skål International Tenerife, as 2nd Vice President; José María Úbeda, Skål International Málaga, as General Secretary; Emilio Menéndez, Skål International Málaga, as Treasurer; Eliseo González, Skål International Madrid, as Congress Board Member; Ramón Adillón, Skål International Madrid, as Membership Board Member; Gracia Peregrín, Skål International Granada, as Statutes Board Member; Filomena López, Skål International Ciudad Condal, as Institutional Relations Board Member; José María Callejón, Skål International Málaga, as Senior Auditor; José Luis García Va, Skål International Cádiz, as Junior Auditor; and Clemente Torras, Skål International Ciudad de Barcelona, as Statutes Adviser.
Francisco Rivero holds a PhD in Tourism from the Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid and is a journalist specialising in Tourism from the Complutense University. He was the founder of the press office of Mallorca Airport and has worked for more than 30 years in Turespaña, the Spanish Directorate General of Tourism. In Venice, he was the founder and Vice President of Skål International Europe. The new Skål International Spain President has travelled to around 50 countries on four continents.
