Membership Engagement & Young Skål

Dear Skålleagues,

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in Adelaide or the 112th National Assembly. Your presence, energy and friendship made the event truly memorable.

The weekend began in spectacular fashion with a Friday evening at the Adelaide Zoo, where members and guests enjoyed a unique and relaxed setting surrounded by wildlife. Thank you to Zoos SA for allowing the Giraffes and Pandas to stay up a little bit later than usual to attend our function.

Saturday saw a highly productive National Assembly, where important discussions, collaboration and forward planning for our local clubs took place.

The celebrations concluded in style with the Gala Dinner at The National Wine Centre, where we shared fine South Australian food and wine and enjoyed a night with many laughs thanks to our vivacious air hostess from OzStar Airlines and ‘Richie Rich’ from Melbourne!

A special thank you must go to the local organising committee who worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was thoughtfully planned and executed. Their efforts created an outstanding experience for all who attended and we are deeply grateful for their hospitality and dedication.

Looking ahead, we are proud to highlight our continued commitment to sustainability. As part of this assembly, Skål International Australia announced we will be supporting Carbon Positive Australia through their Community Planting Projects, helping to restore landscapes, support biodiversity and make a positive impact for future generations.

Through the Membership Development Fund, Skål International Australia will donate one tree for every new member who joins a local club. Each tree will directly contribute to Carbon Positive Australia’s community projects. To kickstart this initiative, we are proud to announce the donation of 847 trees, representing our membership numbers up to August this year.

You can read more about Carbon Positive Australia’s community programs here: carbonpositiveaustralia.org.au/our-work/community-planting-projects. We look forward to sharing more in the coming months about our support and the fantastic work this charity is doing.

Thank you once again to all who attended and we look forward to seeing you at the next time we all get together which will be at the Annual General Meeting on the Gold Coast in March 2026!

Yours in Skål,

Taylor Spinks
