Dear Skålleagues,
The 112th Skål Australia National Assembly in Adelaide was an outstanding success. From the moment delegates began arriving, the atmosphere was full of energy as Skålleagues reconnected, exchanged ideas, and strengthened business friendships.
The program offered a solid balance of reports, open forums, and networking opportunities, giving every Club and member the chance to contribute to discussions on the future of Skål in Australia. Hearing from our World President, Denise Scrafton, alongside reports from the National Executive, an update from Victoria Wales, President of Skål International New Zealand and sustainability insights from Jason Simpson of Monarto Safari Resort, added valuable perspective and direction.
One of the real highlights this year was seeing Clubs and members embrace social media throughout the Assembly. From pre-event posts as Skålleagues travelled to and arrived in Adelaide, to live updates throughout the Assembly and post-event reflections, Skålleagues across the country enthusiastically shared their experiences, helping to spread the word about the strength of our network far beyond the walls of the Assembly. This online engagement not only showcased the fun and fellowship of Skål but also amplified the professional value of belonging to our great organisation.
The Adelaide Assembly reinforced the importance of staying connected, working together, and promoting the values that make Skål unique. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and helped spread the word – you made this Assembly a real success. Congratulations to Skål Adelaide on a great job of hosting!
As I write this, I am now en route to Cusco, Peru, for the Skål International World Congress. This global gathering is always a highlight of the Skål calendar, bringing together members from every corner of the world to share ideas, celebrate achievements, and build new connections. I look forward to being part of the team representing Skål Australia on the international stage and will be excited to share more about this fabulous event in the next issue of the newsletter.
